“Riga Wagner House Reconstruction Project Begins with Time Capsule Ceremony”

Since 2017, the Riga Rihards Vagners Society has held flash drives on Wagner’s birthday to draw public attention to the need to restore the Wagner House.

This year, the project has developed so far that the reconstruction of the theater will finally begin.

“This year, the reconstruction of the theater will finally begin, and the association has decided to celebrate Richard Wagner’s 210th anniversary by embedding a time capsule in the facade of the building. Various documents and evidence of the time will be placed in it, including the founding protocol of the Riga Richard Wagner Society, historical images of the building and current project drawings, messages from the patrons of the project. As a testament to the time, we will embed one of the latest issues of “Rīgas Laika” as well as “Vakara Ziņas”. The ceremony will take place in front of Vāgnera House, Vāgnera Street 4, Riga. After the ceremony, all those present are invited to a short soloist of the chamber orchestra “Kremerata Baltica” concert in the Wagner Hall,” says Signe Viška, representative of the Riga Richards Wagner Society.
