Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF) and Weekend Events in Riga: Films, Concerts, and More

It takes place from October 12 to 22 Riga International Film Festival (RIGA IFF).

Celebrating the festival’s decade, RIGA IFF will offer viewers internationally recognized, researched full-length and short-length cinematographic works that shed light on current cinema trends and the most important authors of contemporary cinema.

The program created by a team of professional local and foreign curators will be shown for 11 days in the cinemas “Splendid Palace” and “Forum Cinemas” in Riga, and some of the films in the program will also be available online throughout Latvia. In parallel, a program of events for industry professionals, as well as a set of public events for the wider public, will also take place.

But in the evening, at 19.00, “You already know where” American experimental rock bands will take place “Xiu Xiu” concert.

October 13

On Friday, October 13, an electronic music rave event will take place at Spilve Airport “DEBOSCH Express Yourself”. It will feature Anika Kunst (Symbolism, EU), Ksenia Kamikaza, aurora222, Kishkis and Waxid.

But it will happen in the Wagon Hall charity and awareness concert “Presence”. October is Down syndrome awareness month. There are almost 1,300 people with Down syndrome in Latvia, and to increase their well-being, the society “Down syndrome Latvia” was founded two years ago. During this time, quite a lot has been implemented, but every new project and idea needs not only a doer, but also funds. Katrīna Dimantas, “PSPMS” and “Apēdājs” will perform at the concert. Entrance: from 18.00 for a donation for the future work of the association.
