The “Riga” team has been awarded two technical losses in the games of the Russian Youth Hockey League (MHL) on October 21 and 22 in their field with the St. Petersburg “Dinamo Spb”, MHL informed on Monday.
Considering that the “Riga” team is currently in Covid-19 quarantine, it is not possible to play the games against “Dinamo Spb” scheduled for October 21 and 22.
The MHL disciplinary committee has decided to award the Riga team technical losses in these matches, according to the league’s website.
It has already been reported that two previous Riga team games against the St. Petersburg “SKA-Varjagi” unit, which were to take place on October 17 and 18 in the “Inbox” ice hall, have been postponed indefinitely.
On October 26 and 27, the first two fights of the four-game trip with Moscow’s “Krillia Sovetov” are planned for Rigans in Moscow.
“Rīga” with 22 points in 18 games takes the fifth place in the Western Conference and has played more games than all other conference teams. In addition, the table does not yet include technical losses in Wednesday and Thursday matches.
Last season’s MHL team “Riga” head coach Raimonds Vilkoits and his assistant Aleksandrs Niživijs joined the Continental Hockey League (KHL) team Riga “Dinamo” coaching staff, while Valērijs Kuļibaba and Sergejs Durdins took over their duties.
Last season, the Riga team took the seventh place in the Western Conference in the regular championship, but in the first round of the playoffs, Yaroslavl’s “Loko” gave up 0-3.
