Riding a motorbike, Jokowi reviews the Mandalika MotoGP facilities

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inspected the facilities at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, Central Lombok, Thursday (13/1), while simultaneously simulating the arrival of the MotoGP Mandalika 2022 spectators by riding a motorbike to the Mandalika Circuit.

Jokowi rides a custom Kawasaki W175 motorbike from Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport to the Mandalika Circuit via a bypass route.

Jokowi wears a black jacket with the G20 logo on the chest. He immediately rode a custom motorbike with the words “RI 1” and “Jokowi”.

“President Joko Widodo looks ready to wear a limited edition jacket with the theme G20 Indonesia and will ride a custom Kawasaki W175 motorcycle in metallic green color after inspecting the facilities at the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport,” the Presidential Secretariat said in a statement, Thursday (13/1).

Jokowi tested the Lombok International Airport-Mandalika Circuit bypass road with the motorbike. Jokowi reviewed the readiness of a number of supporting infrastructure for the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP, which will be held on March 18-20.

The President’s entourage is scheduled to stop at several locations to check the facilities and infrastructure supporting the implementation of MotoGP, such as circuit facilities, roads, and lodging.

After that, the former Solo Mayor will visit the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Jokowi is also scheduled to attend the launch of the Tourism and Supporting BUMN Injourney Holding at Kuta Mandalika Beach, Central Lombok Regency.

The Mandalika Circuit will again host the international race in March after holding the World Superbike (WSBK) in November 2021. The Mandalika International Circuit will be used for the 2022 Indonesian MotoGP race.

“President Jokowi will be a simulator for the arrival of MotoGP spectators, starting from the arrival and the road to the circuit, where is the venue? [tes] PCR and where to exchange tickets until they enter the circuit stands,” said Central Lombok Regent, Lalu Pathul Bahri, quoted from Antara.
