Since Monday, patients, visitors, local residents and employees of Maasstad Hospital have been able to visit the temporary corona vaccination point in the central hall of the hospital without an appointment. The employees of the vaccination point provide information about vaccinations against corona and can immediately give a first or second vaccination against corona. The vaccination point is a collaboration between the hospital and GGD Rotterdam Rijnmond.

“As a hospital, we have a responsibility to provide good information and care to our patients and residents in the region,” says initiator Charlotte van Noord, acute medicine internist at Maasstad Hospital. “They can therefore ask all their questions in an accessible way and immediately go for a vaccination if they want to.”
The Board of Directors and the medical specialists of Maasstad Hospital wholeheartedly recommend vaccinations. “Vaccination is the way out of the corona crisis,” emphasizes Peter Langenbach, chairman of the Executive Board. “It ensures fewer infections and a safer working environment for our employees. Let’s not forget that 1.8 million people in the Netherlands have not (yet) been vaccinated. Of these, people also live in our catchment area who are our patients. We therefore think it is important that we can inform and vaccinate by means of the pop-up vaccination point.”
The vaccination point in the central hall is open from September 27 to Friday October 8. Anyone aged 12 and over can visit here without an appointment from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If desired, the vaccination is registered with the RIVM so that vaccinated persons can request a QR code via the CoronaCheck app.
