I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here! Candidate Richard Madeley begged the audience to vote for him to do the trials before the show started.

The official 2021 series lineup has confirmed that the Good Morning Britain presenter is one of the first 10 stars to enter the castle when the show returns on Sunday.

Viewers can now vote for who they want to compete on the first try using the program’s app, with voting closing at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Richard showed up.

“I really hope that I will be voted for the trials,” he enthused. “The problem with this program is that you don’t have to go for it if you take yourself seriously from a distance.

“I don’t and can’t wait to be covered by God knows what!” You have to be prepared for people to laugh and I see that as hell! ‘

Richard has already participated in a few tries as a guest on I’m A Celebrity’s ITV2 spinoff series, Extra Camp, including lying in a coffin with snakes.

He said the only challenge he fears is the route he will have to take to get to the Welsh Castle.

“I spent many years on my grandparents’ farm in Shropshire,” he revealed. “I’m used to animals, rats, so I got it all knocked out.

“I don’t like heights and what bothers me the most is the path that leads to the castle. Maybe I will have to walk on a plank in an open space of 150 feet.
