Richard Gere says goodbye to the United States: The actor has sold his house in Connecticut for $10.75 million, months after announcing his plans to move to Spain.
Gere, 75, acquired the property in 2022 for 10.8 million, a price slightly higher than the recent sale. During their stay, Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva, planned to convert the property into a farm. The residence, built in 1938, has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a swimming pool, gardens and a guest cabin.
Since they married in 2018, Gere and Silva have lived in the United States, although in an interview this year, in April, the interpreter said that he wanted to spend more time in the native Spain of his wife, with whom he is 33 years apart. . In this way, he says, he wants to allow him to be closer to his family.

“For Alejandra it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture,” said Silva, 41, in a conversation with Vanity Fair España. “She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it’s only fair that I give her at least another six years living in hers.”
Specifically, the Pretty Woman star will move to Madrid with his family, made up of his wife Alejandra and their two sons, Alexander, 5, and James, 4. Both have children from previous marriages: Gere is also the father of a son, Homer, 24, with his second wife, Carey Lowell; Silva, on the other hand, shares a son, Albert, 11, with her ex-husband Govind Friedland. It is not clear where this minor will live.
