Meanwhile, Johnny and Gemma Goodale D’Amore lead a comfortable life in their luxurious Peterborough home.
Solomon, who had lost his job during the pandemic, only had £ 80 of spending money a week.
But his luck was about to turn when the owner of the construction company Johnny and his wife Gemma offered him a job.
Gemma and Johnny renovated their property last night, which has a game room with a pool table and dart board and a luxury walk-in closet.
The couple share their home with the children of Gemma, George, 10, and Mason, eight – his children from a previous relationship – and daughter Millie, two, and newborn baby Gray.
Gemma, who became the UK’s youngest chartered accountant, said: “I was completely self-taught from 18 to 20 years old and now, 15 years later, we are a well established local accountancy firm.
On the other hand, Solomon and Chelsea rent a three-bedroom council house in Bedford.
The couple have four children together – Kyla, 13, Harvey, 10, Leila, six, and Tilly, two.
Sadly, Solomon lost his job working at a care home with children during the pandemic.
He was desperate to find another job and someday fulfill his dream of buying his own children’s residential home, but he would need a Level 5 NVQ first.
Meanwhile, Chelsea owns a t-shirt printing business – which they plan to expand in the future.
Solomon admitted, “Money is tight right now until I find another job. “
After exchanging their homes, Gemma and Johnny were stunned to find they only had £ 80.12 to spend on six people, while Chelsea and Solomon can enjoy £ 1,652.36 for the week.
Johnny and Gemma later find documents showing the extent of Chelsea and Solomon’s debt.
“It’s horrible to think that on top of a very tight budget, they had to go into debt just to stay afloat,” Johnny said.
At the end of the week, the two families finally met.
Johnny had installed a new carpet in Solomon and Chelsea’s house, while doing DIY jobs.
Gemma gave Chelsea a new laptop after running into issues with it: “It was really, really frustrating for me.
“You see, I work on a computer all day every day and it took me so, so long to get started! “
During the week, Solomon had been working at Johnny’s construction site.
Solomon revealed, “I really enjoyed it – still looking, obviously, for a job in home care because my heart, my passion, it’s all in there. I don’t want to do anything else.
Johnny said: “It takes a certain type of person to work with children in nursing homes. You have to have a heart for that. “
Johnny revealed that he arranged an interview for Solomon at a nursing home.
He revealed, “We have an online call with a nursing home.
Solomon was left in tears, as Gemma explained, “It’s a children’s care home – it’s near our home. ”
Johnny added, “I know it’s in Peterborough, but that’s exactly what you’re looking for and you are more or less what they’re looking for. “
“After your probation is over, they actually pay for you to do your level five as part of the progression.
“If it can give you that stepping stone and some of the skills you need, it takes you to another level. “
Chelsea was in tears: “I can’t thank you guys enough. “
An upset Johnny said, “We can’t thank you enough for learning songs on our own. “
