The Embassy of the Russian Federation commemorated Defender of the Fatherland Day, formerly called Armed Forces Day, with a banquet attended by Peruvian political and military authorities and Defense attachés from different embassies.
The captain of the ship, Andrey Loyko, Naval, Military and Air Attache, welcomed the attendees, remarking that on February 23, Russian citizens pay tribute to the military, to war veterans, to whom they guarantee The sovereignty, peace and security of the country for a sustainable development of the State and an open and independent foreign policy in favor of national interests.
The patriotism and courage of the war veterans were highlighted, as well as the combatants in the special operation and peace missions, the participants in the counterterrorist operations and the confrontation against the renewed Nazism.
The FF. AA. Russia has 5 components: Army, Navy, Strategic Missile Troops, Airborne Troops and Aerospace Forces. The latter carried out high-precision strikes against terrorist targets in Syria.
Military cooperation between Peru and Russia dates back more than 40 years and advances in training were emphasized.
