In October 2023, Salinas Pliego called the first cryptocurrency a reliable hedge against inflation, since the government cannot devalue it.
At the time of writing, the billionaire ranks 132nd in the ranking Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a capital of $14.2 billion. In November 2020, he announced that he had invested 10% of his funds in Bitcoin.
