The staff of the Ribera Povisa Hospital have donated 6,100 kilos of essential products to the Vigo Food Bank, thanks to the donation made at the hospital’s 50th anniversary dinner, which was held on December 21.
Representing the hospital workers, Lorena Vilán, Manuel Domínguez, Miguel Ferradás, Julio César Verde, Mara Parente and Remedios Campos delivered the donation equivalent to 6,100 kilos of food to Iván Martínez President of the Vigo Food Bank in an event organized in center.
The Ribera Povisa professionals who attended the celebration dinner made a voluntary donation by withdrawing their invitations and chose with their votes the organization to which the funds raised will ultimately be allocated, in an initiative promoted by the Department of Communication, Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility of Ribera Povisa.
This gesture culminates the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Ribera Povisa Hospital, which included an institutional event, held on December 19, in which the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, announced the awarding of the city’s gold medal to the health Center. In addition, patients and visitors to the hospital can tour a historical exhibition on the ground floor of the hospital that highlights the most important milestones in Povisa’s history over the last five decades. You can also attend the screening of a video in the Assembly Hall in which institutional representatives and workers of the center review the history of service to the health care of the patients of the health center.
