After several months of repairs to the section of the highway, the traffic was finally finally released a few days ago. Earlier this week, however, an NGO announced that it had carried out an inspection and that the fresh repairs did not meet some of the basic requirements.
According to the latest opinion of experts from the non-governmental organization European Center for Transport Policies, road markings do not cover even the minimum requirements for light reflection. In some places the wear coating is about 1 cm thick with a minimum requirement between 4 and 6 cm.
In some places, the road signs have already turned yellow.
However, the Road Infrastructure Agency will wait two whole weeks for the traffic to start and then they will make an on-site inspection. If problems are identified, the contractor will be sanctioned.
