Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– The country’s Covid-19 cases do not seem to have subsided, and continue to break record highs. On Saturday (3/7/2021) Covid-19 cases in the country reached the highest number of 27,913 cases. Meanwhile, the next day, new cases still did not show a decline, still at 27,000.
On Monday (5/7/2021), the Ministry of Health recorded the addition of 29,745 Covid-19 cases and touched a record high. With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country has reached 2,313,829.
The massive addition of new cases also makes active cases or patients requiring treatment continue to grow.
Meanwhile, 14,416 people have recovered from this disease, bringing the total to 1,942,690. Unfortunately, the number of deaths due to Covid-19 continues to increase by 558, bringing the total to 61,140 people. The increase in the number of deaths is also a record high.
On Sunday (4/7/2021) the number of patients who died increased by 555 to 60,582, this number of deaths was the highest record during a pandemic in Indonesia.
Emergency PPKM Coordinator General TNI (Ret.) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan daily cases of Covid-19 in the country will continue to increase. This is inseparable from the incubation period of the corona virus that causes Covid-19.
“So if we start (Emergency PPKM) yesterday on the 3rd, I think at the latest after the 12th we will see maybe he is a bit slow down. So until the 13-14th maybe it will still be and the number may still be high,” said Luhut.
Therefore, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment said that the government had taken steps. One of them is that the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has encouraged hospitals (RS) to convert 30%-40% of beds for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
