In 2013, it was only established in Villefranche-sur-Saône and Gleizé, in Beaujolais. T he tiger mosquito continues its inexorable expansion throughout the department. From year to year, the affected surface increases exponentially. To date, 67 Rhone communes have been recognized as colonized by the Interdepartmental Mosquito Control Agreement (EID), to which the Department adheres.
To allow the census, nesting traps are installed on the territory. Finding a tiger mosquito specimen in one of these traps is enough to consider the area as colonized. If the statistic is not exhaustive, it makes it possible to evaluate the speed of colonization of the species.
