“When you lose your mind, you lose your passion!” », “Future emergency”, “No country without peasants” “Where are we? »… After starting their protest movement by overturning the entrance signs of several municipalities in the department on Friday, the angry farmers continued their mobilization this Saturday, with the covering of signs in Beaujolais and the Monts du Lyonnais.
The municipalities of Beaujeu, Cercié, Odenas, Saint-Laurent-d’Agny and Morancé were notably targeted.
“Fires of anger” Monday evening
With the desire to show that “we always walk on our heads” and that “without signposts, we are lost”, the Young Farmers and the FDSEA du Rhône will continue this symbolic action in other municipalities this Sunday, before a large mobilization day Monday.
After a meeting with parliamentarians in Lyon in the morning where certain removed signs will be placed, “fires of anger” will be lit on several roundabouts in the department in the evening, notably in Saint-Romain-de-Popey, Mornant and Saint-Martin-en-Haut, in order to express “distress and anger in the face of the threats weighing on their future”.
Less than a year after a large-scale movement and while a free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur will be considered at the G20 summit on November 18 and 19, a “final provocation” according to the unions , they are still demanding answers and the “materialization of political announcements” in the face of the growing unease in the agricultural world.
