Rhone. It is forbidden to fill your swimming pool in these municipalities, up to a fine of €1,500

The drought alert is now at its maximum in a large part of the Rhône department.

The prefecture of the department has just decreed the level of “crisis” concerning the use of water while a fourth heat wave hits this summer in a large part of France.

Prohibition to fill your swimming pool from Wednesday

Among the measures that come into force: ban on filling your swimming pool Or even upgrade it. It comes into force on Wednesday August 10, 2022.

This ban affects private owners of swimming pools. The renewal, filling and emptying of public swimming pools must be subject to the authorization of the Regional Health Agency (ARS).

What do you risk if you fill your pool?

In the event of non-compliance with these prohibitions, you may be penalized with maximum fine of 1,500 euros.

For legal persons, this can go up to 7,500 euros.

Which area is concerned in the Rhône?

Most of the Rhône department is now affected by this ban except for eastern Lyon still under “increased vigilance”.

The cities of Lyon, Caluire, Champagne-au-Mont-d’Or, Dardilly, Ecully, Fontaine-Saint-Martin, Limonest, Montanay, Poleymieux-au-Mont-d’Or, Rillieux-la-Pape, Saint- Cyr-au-Mont-D’Or, Saint-Didier au Mont d’Or, Sathonay-Camp are concerned.

It was already banned in the municipalities of western Lyon since July 25: Charbonnières-les-Bains, Charly, Craponne, Francheville, Grigny, La Mulatière, La-Tour-de-Salvagny, Marcy l’étoile, Oullins, Pierre-Bénite, Saint-Genis-Laval, Saint-Genis-les-Ollières, Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, Vernaison.

This is also the case throughout the north of the Rhône department as far as Villefranche and in Beaujolais.

The cities not yet involved by this ban on filling swimming pools are in particular (for the main ones): Bron, Chassieu, Décines-Charpieu, Feyzin, Jonage, Meyzieu, Pusignan, Saint-Fons, Saint-Priest, Saint-Symphorien d’Ozon, Solaize, Vaulx- in-Velin, Vénissieux, Villeurbanne.
