Five women and a man, all of Chinese nationality, were indicted on Friday January 22 in Besançon for pimping and criminal association in the dismantling of a network that spread over several cities in France, we learned from a source judicial.
Twelve prostitutes and six pimps
Women are “former prostitutes who have become organizers of the prostitution of younger women aged 25 to 30”, in Besançon but also in Dijon (Côte d’Or), Villeurbanne (Rhône), Valence (Drôme), Aubervilliers ( Seine-Saint-Denis) and Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), explained the public prosecutor of Besançon Étienne Manteaux.
Five suspects have been remanded in custody and one under judicial supervision, added the same source.
In this network, twelve prostitutes and five of the six organizers were in an irregular situation in France. They all recognized the facts, said the public prosecutor of Besançon.
Offers on a website
It all started with a “tip” as often, in this type of delinquency. PJ investigators learn of the presence of Chinese prostitutes in apartments in the townships. The latter offer their services through a website. Investigations are carried out using IP addresses and wiretapping. Quickly, it appears that this well-organized network works in several cities in France.
The pimps rented apartments in the various cities, where prostitutes turned regularly, explained the magistrate who found an “inhuman slaughter” imposed on young women.
Customers contacted them on a classifieds website.
“Some of these people had already been arrested in France in an irregular situation a few years ago”, noted the commander of the judicial police of Besançon, Régis Millet, specifying that they had been expelled but that they had returned.
Investigators from the judicial police, in charge of the investigation, seized some 20,000 euros in cash.
The prostitutes, often of very modest origins, young women from the Chinese countryside victims of this trafficking, have been entrusted to the border police services which will ensure their administrative follow-up.
