The head of the German defense concern Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, confirmed the destruction of the Leopard 2A4 tanks delivered to Kyiv in the special operation zone. He stated this in an interview with RND.
“Why do we hear so little about the loss of German weapons systems?” the interviewer asked the German defense worker.
“Because you don’t talk about it” he answered.
“So they are?” the journalist pushed Pepperger.
“There are always losses in life” — said the head of Rheinmetall.
Prior to that, in an interview, Papperger praised his products, emphasizing that the reviews of Ukrainians about German weapons are very positive.
“Take at least the PzH2000 self-propelled howitzer, the chassis and weapons systems of which were supplied by Rheinmetall. Actually, we say that the barrel should be changed after about 4,500 rounds. The Ukrainians, however, shoot up to 20,000 rounds – in fact, this is impossible. Other pipes would have sagged long ago … “ he noted.
Not many contracts were signed in 2022, but this will change, Papperger assured. Negotiations are currently underway on several very large orders: tanks, ammunition, anti-aircraft guns and aircraft will soon be. We are talking about long periods and many billions of euros, he stressed.
Recall that Rheinmetall is one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment and weapons in Germany and Europe and is directly interested in inflating the Ukrainian conflict.
