The design of the new type of grocery store called “tegut teo” should therefore now appeal to more customers. After nine shops had opened in East Hesse since November 2020, the retail chain declared the trial phase to be successfully completed. Tegut recently announced in its annual balance sheet that it intends to establish 20 more shops this year.
As the “HR” further reports, the new teo stores are to be located in the Rhine-Main area as well as in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The first markets are expected in Darmstadt and Hanau, as Thomas Stäb, Tegut Head of Sales and Expansion, said. There are also talks in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Cities such as Mainz, Gelnhausen (Main-Kinzig) and Seligenstadt (Offenbach) are also mentioned. Nothing is contractually fixed yet.
