Final of the European League of Football: Rhein Fire defends the title

Rhein Fire won the final against the Vienna Vikings and is once again champion of the European League of Football. The team from the Rhineland won clearly with 51:20.

41,364 spectators attended the final in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. This is a new ELF record.

The Vienna Vikings started the game well. In the first drive they had no negative plays, just one incomplete pass and otherwise gained ground. But Rhein Fire kept getting the ball back. The last minute before halftime was enough for Fire to score the next points. The halftime score was 30:13.

After the break, Rhein Fire showed a good balance between running and passing, ending with a touchdown pass from Clark to Tim Sauerland. The Vikings, on the other hand, did not even manage a first down in their first drive. Both teams exchanged punts and Aaron Donkor made two sacks for Fire. In the final quarter, Rhein Fire took advantage of good field position for the next touchdown: Jadrian Clark threw a 36-yard pass to Bryan Winter in the end zone. Winter played for the first time since he was injured early in the season.

In the final seconds, Vienna managed another touchdown through Horn. It did not change the clear victory for Rhein Fire.
