Libreville, May 15, 2023 (AGP) – The Minister of Economy and Recovery, Nicole Jeanine Lydie Roboty-Mbou, met this Monday, May 15 in Libreville, the representatives of the diplomatic corps in the presence of his colleague from Foreign Affairs Hermann Immongault, in order to inform them and raise awareness about the organization of the General Population and Housing Census (RGPL 2023).
The purpose of this meeting was to raise awareness among representatives of the diplomatic corps on the general population and housing census (RGPL) for the year 2023, the mapping phase of which is scheduled to start next June. The latter were invited to relay the information to their respective communities, in order to welcome the mapping agents to their homes by answering the questions that will be put to them during this stage.

For the national director of the census, population and housing, Pierre Claver MFouba, this vast campaign does not only concern Gabonese, but all people living on the national territory.
He also indicated that the second phase of the RGPL, consists in making the main cartography, that is to say, the division of the country into enumeration areas. This technical phase will last 3 to 4 months before the actual start of the census of people and habitats.
Teams from the central census office will travel to all localities in the country from June to carry out mapping activities.
