RFS striker Ofors to move to MLS club in Chicago “Fire”
Riga, November 13, LETA. Latvian football super league team RFS striker Chinonso Ofors will move to the American Football League (MLS) team Chicago “Fire” after the end of the season, informs both units.
The contract with the 20-year-old Nigerian footballer will take effect in January and is until the end of the 2023 season, with the possibility of extending it for another year. The details of the transaction are not disclosed, but the portal “Sportacentrs.com”, referring to the information at its disposal, reports that the amount of the transfer has reached approximately 900,000 US dollars (approximately 760,680 euros).
Ofors has been in Latvia since last year, when he joined the “Daugavpils” team, but this summer the attacker moved to RFS. Before joining the Daugavpils team, he played in Turkey.
In Latvia, Ofors played in 40 games, where he scored 16 goals and scored seven times. In the Daugavpils unit, he scored ten goals in 23 dues, but in the RFS, he stood out in 13 Super League fights with six accurate blows.
The transition to the MLS is the second loudest deal in Latvian football this season. In September, another Nigerian striker Toluvalase Arokodare, who has already made his debut in the German Bundesliga, moved to the Koln unit.
The Chicago team took 11th place in the Eastern Conference in the 2020 MLS season and does not qualify for the elimination tournament. The best goal scorer this season with 20 flawless blows was Slovenian Robert Beric.
