During the meeting with the senator, the minister raised the issue of new threats to Ukraine, which appeared due to the “de facto Anschluss” of Belarus.
“Special attention was paid to the new threats that arose as a result of the de facto Anschluss in Belarus. The possibilities of practical application of support mechanisms that are within the competence of the Congress, in the short and long term, were also discussed,” the press service writes.
Reznikov noted that Ukraine, for its part, is interested in the United States providing greater support in the range of security issues. At the same time, we are talking about assistance that can be provided in the shortest possible time.
“We are also talking about assistance that can be obtained as soon as possible, since there are urgent needs. And about military-diplomatic support, and about the development of fundamental capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will require careful preparation of appropriate decisions,” Oleksiy Reznikov said.
