Events that will give a new start to the settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine may take place in Russia this year.
This opinion was expressed by the Vice Prime Minister – Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Alexey Reznikov on air TV channel “Dom”. According to him, serious changes should be expected in Russia.
“I am absolutely serious … I now feel that tectonic changes will take place in Russia. This is my deep feeling, not a conviction – a feeling,” he said.
He added that this may give rise to changes in the issue of the return of the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass, noting that in order to achieve peace, actions are needed from both Russia and Ukraine.
At the same time, the signing of a peace treaty, according to Reznikov, is also the beginning of a new stage, since a full-fledged reintegration of territories will take tens of years – at least 25 years.
“But don’t confuse de-occupation with reintegration. Reintegration involves the mental return of people. Reintegration involves the demining of territories, and this is a decade. Restore the economy, build new factories, new schools, new thermal power plants. And much more. This is tens of years, “he explained.
Also earlier, Reznikov expressed the opinion that for the demining of the occupied territories in eastern Ukraine it will take at least 25-30 years. He drew parallels with the consequences of the armed conflict in Croatia, noting that 25 years have passed, and there are still about 500 square meters left. km of non-mined areas.
Earlier, Reznikov also said that during the war years in Donbass there was about $ 120 billion in damage… However, it is not known how much state and municipal property remained in the occupied territory.
