The program will feature poetry by Rudīte Losāne, Dace Zālīte-Micāne and Māra Zālīte, Kaspars’ original compositions and songs, as well as compositions arranged for guitar by Latvian and foreign composers.
“Everyone who reads poetry has had moments when it seems – the poet has looked into the corners of our hearts and written off their hidden longings and feelings.” Rēzija Kalniņa and Kaspars Zemitis this evening will share those poems and compositions that have addressed their hearts. According to musician Kaspars Zemītis: “This is a way for a man to get to know a woman’s soul more, through the poetry she reads.”
“This is the need for intimacy and the nakedness of the heart. Yes, the word ‘intimacy’ is probably the most accurate,” Rēzija Kalniņa describes her idea of poetry evenings. The “Moment After Dinner” concert program is like a dialogue with the audience in the format of music and poetry, and different every time.
“A moment after dinner is a twilight zone between day and evening. A moment between the day’s thunder, haste, peace and silence. A moment where we can meet ourselves in poetry and music. A place where we can see our souls and hear our hearts. A moment where silence addresses us Poetry and music will unite in the program “A Moment After Dinner”, which will reveal to the audience a little more, more personally, “write the creators of the concert program.
Poetry has always been important to Rēzija Kalniņa. She reads it alone or with friends. It was her husband – conductor Ainars Rubikis – who proposed to expand this circle of listeners. The title of the program “Moment After Dinner” is also very personal.
“I have two weaknesses. One is to make food, the other is to read poetry. We had evenings with friends when I bought a new book of poetry again, took this book after dinner and read poetry. At one point Ainars suggested that I it could be done more widely, “says Rēzija Kalniņa.
Tickets can be purchased at “Ticket Paradise” box offices and on the Internet.
