For this new year, Marie Thérèse Levavasseur, president of the association of blood donors, gathered, in a minimum of time and in compliance with health rules, in the small association room, the blood donors who have reached the age 70. Indeed, in France, anyone who donates blood, plasma or platelets can do so until their 71st birthday. After a short speech, Marie-Thérèse congratulated and gave each one a basket of local products and a diploma in appreciation of their loyalty, to the delight of the recipients, happy with this unexpected recognition.
These generous donors no longer count their donations which are spread over a lifetime, aware of the need for this act. Today they pass the torch to the youngest, simply to make themselves available for a few hours each year, in order to give of themselves.
