PreSize technology has been used so far in operations involving 375 patients, in 7 hospitals in England, Scotland, Germany, Finland and Ukraine.
The researchers confirmed that they were more accurate in predicting where the stent would “land” in the brain than experienced neurosurgeons. Its accuracy reached 95%, while the accuracy of doctors reached 81%.
However, the team stressed the need for more research before any possible deployment of the technology on a larger scale.
