Revolutionizing Healthcare with Full BIM: The Caen University Hospital Redevelopment Project

The Caen University Hospital building, operational since 1975, no longer met current needs. To its verticality, the AIA Life Designers teams preferred five compact buildings (123,000 m²), deployed in a U around a landscaped public square. If the first two were delivered last April, construction must still take place until 2026, for a total amount of 250 million euros.

The operation is carried out in Full BIM, through 102 digital models. These models made it possible to generate the random rhythm of the facade, to install the medical equipment and their terminals, and to extract data for the analysis of the life cycle of the building. The models will also be used for operation and even for predictive maintenance.
