Salmerón has developed an algorithm that utilizes hormonal levels as inputs to predict the likelihood of hypocalcemia, a common complication after thyroid surgery. By leveraging advanced computer systems and a variational quantum circuit, the algorithm achieved impressive accuracy. Theoretical physics dominates the realm of quantum research, but Salmerón focuses on practical applications.

The accuracy rate of these models reached 90% in a study conducted at Seyyed-al Shohada University Hospital in Iran.
