The powers of artificial intelligence seem endless. The latest example is football stadiums revisited by technology according to the characteristics of the cities and clubs in which they are located. Here is what the AI imagined for the speakers in Le Havre, Caen and Rouen.
What if artificial intelligence became the architect of football stadiums? In recent days, stadium prototypes revisited by computers are popping up on social networks. This Friday, it’s the turn of French speakers to put themselves through the mill of AI imagination.
The principle is simple: you just have to enter the description information of a club, its city, its history, and the computer takes care of generating an image corresponding best to the given characteristics. It must be admitted that the result is often stunning, even if rarely realistic.
“Sky and sea + industrial port + sea + boats”: this is the HAC stadium imagined by artificial intelligence. On social networks, the Ligue 1 Uber Eats account shared the photos of the 20 Ligue 1 stadiums. That of the only Norman representative of the elite seems to be almost unanimous.
“The one in Le Havre is a masterclass“, “Le Havre nugget“, “The one from Le Havre has a crazy flow!” can we read in the comments. A downside noted by the regulars: the fact that there is still not enough parking. The detractors of the sky and navy club will, however, find reason to laugh by noting that even the AI has drawn a polluted sky.
As for the Caen enclosure, the AI offers two choices. On the first, the Viking side of the club is undoubtedly disproportionately highlighted. It even makes you wonder if there is room left for the players and the public.
On the second proposal, the AI located the stadium in the heart of the ducal castle. We must also believe that the brain of the computer imagines the city of Guillaume in the middle of Central Park as the surroundings of the stadium are full of trees, which would make the elected officials in opposition to the municipal majority laugh.
The enclosure would be much less modern than that of Le Havre, with a more medieval, historical side. The club’s detractors will say that the ramparts would be more effective in front of Anthony Mandréa’s goal, as the Malherbistes have not been able to not concede a goal for two months.
For the FCR, it was the club itself which was responsible for creating visuals using technology. “Seine”, “cathedral”, “red and white” must have been the key words used to ask the computer to propose its architecture.
That said, it seems that the importance of the Cathedral has been emphasized a little too much. Either the stadium is inside the religious building or it is right in front. A choice of location which did not fail to make the fans react. “In front of the cathedral square, this would be a very bad idea“, “But not in front of the cathedral“.
But while the question of building a new stadium arises in the Norman capital, some have taken these sketches at face value. “What is the current capacity and with the new stadium please?“, “Why not renovate and improve Diochon, it would cost less, right?” or “We want to keep our Diochon“. Let them rest assured, these proposals straight from the imagination of computer circuits will probably never be built.
