No more driving license
Something new is about to arrive that will completely revolutionize our driving habits, starting with documents: driving without a license.
One of the most annoying occurrences while driving is receiving a MOREespecially if this happens not due to a serious mistake and which we therefore know we deserve, but due to a simple one oversight which however, according to the Highway Code, is subject to a fine. Totally reasonable, given the scale of the infraction, but no less unnerving.
We talk about patent, the document that certifies our ability to drive a certain type of vehicle – and when we talk about “license”, we mean all types of licenses. Everyone knows that This card must be carried with you while driving so as to be able to show it in case of control by the police.
If you fail to produce your driving license you may be subject to one fine ranging from 41 euros up to 168 euros. The news that is making the rounds on the Internet concerns precisely this last aspect that we discussed: no more risk of a fine without a license with you. Is something like this really possible?
The government itself is pushing for a change in the management of the guidance document, which it wants streamline bureaucracy and speed it up. As for how to do it, at the top they are aiming for one instrument which has spread in Italy in the recent past and has shown all its usefulness.
Digitization and IO apps
The pandemic that we left behind not long ago will not be forgotten by people soon, although the dangers of Covid have been largely reduced by vaccines and mutations of the virus itself. During the pandemic, the use ofIO applicationin which we could keep ours green pass for convenient use.
Now the government is thinking of relying on IO also for other types of digitized documents, such as the health card, the electoral card and even the driving licence. If this proposal became reality, we could cram our daily paperwork onto our phone.

Fines for not having a driving license happen less out of malice and more out of malice distraction; digitizing your driving documents and storing them in IO would undoubtedly help reduce the risk of forgetting your license and receiving a fine. This risk would not be eliminated, as we could forget both the physical and digital driving license, but it is much more likely to forget our wallet than our cell phone.
Digitizing your driving license – and other documents – is certainly a good idea an excellent step forward in daily bureaucratic management. We use the phone for everything, so why not implement it for operations that are really useful and that allow us to minimize risks and save money?
