Famous cosmetics manufacturer L’Oréal Paris released Colorsonic is a device for quickly coloring hair at home.
Colorsonic is a comb in which paint color is inserted. The device automatically mixes color and developer in a 1:1 ratio. Mixed paint flows out of several holes that are close to the teeth.
The teeth themselves vibrate when they stain at a rate of 300 vibrations per minute. This way the comb quickly separates the hair into strands, which allows you to spread the color evenly. The Colorsonic comes with two attachments with different teeth. The speed of movement can be adjusted according to the type of hair.
In total, L’Oréal Paris released 20 cartridges with different shades of colors. For now, the range only includes classic colors, for example, blonde, black, red, light brown or chestnut. More vibrant colors may be available in the future.
After each coloring session, you need to insert another cartridge with water into the Colorsonic and turn on the machine for a couple of minutes. In this way, all the paint left inside comes out, cleaning the machine and preparing it for further use. L’Oréal Paris says that with Colorsonic, coloring does not take more than 5 minutes, and with a brush you have to fiddle with it for half an hour or longer.
Price and availability
The Colorsonic prototype was first shown at CES in 2022. Two years later, L’Oréal Paris decided to enter the commercial market. Now the company sell device as part of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter at a price 125 dollars (11,500 rubles). Full sales will begin in June 2024 – then the device will cost 155 dollars (14,200 rubles).
