Sightful Spacetop
Each laptop manufacturer has different ideas on how to allow laptop users to have more screen space. From foldable screens to the dual-screen laptops recently launched by Lenovo and Asus, they are all considering solutions. However, the new startup Sightful offers a different idea here – what if we don’t need the screen at all and replace it directly with glasses?
As you can see in the picture above, this laptop named “Spacetop” basically only retains the lower half of the laptop, and the “screen” part is completely replaced by the stored glasses. This makes Spacetop claims to have a “100-inch” screen size. On the demo machine, the laptop body is made by Sightful, but the glasses directly use Xreal Lights. The viewing range of these glasses is relatively small, which also affects the use of Spacetop – perhaps the concept of Spacetop It has a certain appeal, but the currently implemented concept machine still needs to be strengthened.

The laptop uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor and Android operating system, and has only 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage space. The price of such a machine starts at US$2,000, which seems to be a bit high. However, wearable glasses displays are still in a relatively preliminary development stage. If using a computer through glasses in the future can provide an experience that surpasses that of a laptop screen, there might still be opportunities for such a design?
