Revolutionary comedy with a star cast in the Fontane Cinema

Starring Sandra Hülser, Ronald Zehrfeld and Max Riemelt, “Zwei zu eins” tells the story of three friends who take part in a strange chapter of German reunification. When a rumor spreads that old GDR marks are being stored nearby, they hatch a daring plan.

The film cleverly balances between an entertaining rogue comedy and a profound look at the turning point. He sheds light on the ambivalence of those days when old rules no longer applied and new ones had not yet been established.

“Two to One” picks up the true story of the “Treasure of Halberstadt”. In the summer of 1990, millions of surplus GDR marks were actually stored in a tunnel, which resourceful citizens made use of. The film weaves this historical curiosity with fictional elements to create an entertaining summer comedy.

The Fontane Cinema is showing “Zwei zu eins” from October 12th to 16th at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the box office for 9 euros (reduced 8 euros). Tickets sold in advance cost 8 euros (reduced 7 euros) including fees.
