Revolutionary breakthrough from MIT: We believe we have opened a new era

According to the study published in the journal Science, the wearable medical device provides continuous ultrasound images of internal organs to be transmitted to doctors for 48 hours.

The researchers stated that the stickers measuring 2 x 3 centimeters were attached directly to the skin. It was noted that through the stickers, the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases, pregnancy-related complications and various types of cancer can be realized.

REVOLUTIONARY IN MEDICAL IMAGING

Xuanhe Zhao, senior author of the study, is a professor of mechanical engineering and civil and environmental engineering at MIT.“We hope we can image every part of the body with stickers. We believe this represents a revolution in wearable devices and medical imaging.” he said.

On the other hand, Zhao added that the engineers behind the stickers are working on wireless versions that will allow patients to wear the devices at home after the hospital or practice.

“IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO SEE YOUR INNER ORGANS”

Zhao, “We envisage sticking several stickers on different parts of the body. Then artificial intelligence algorithms will analyze the images and communicate with the patient’s cell phone. We believe we have opened a new era in medical imaging. With a few stickers on your body, you can see your internal organs.” said.
