You might think that banks are so massively secured these days that they are no longer in any particular danger. After all, the previously common cases where a bank was physically robbed are basically gone. Today, most of the money is essentially virtual, so there aren’t even any amounts at the branches themselves.
The money is gone
However, all sorts of miscreants and miscreants have moved into the digital space and can do a lot of mischief here. In the Czech Republic, many bank clients are convinced of this every day, who, as a result of a certain naivety or carelessness, easily lose all their savings. And basically in a moment, like a snap of the fingers. No one will give them back. They were simply caught in one of the many traps that fraudsters use today to access online banking.
But imagine that even today the bank itself can basically be robbed, even over the Internet. As it turns out, this happened to the popular institution Revolut. It used to work as a payment application, but today it already has the status of a classic bank, although it still works in a very modern way.
But as it turns out, Revolut had a big bug in their app for quite some time. At least one organized group managed to take advantage of this and withdraw an incredible 20 million dollars from the bank. That is, depending on the current exchange rate, around 450 million crowns.

Weird operation
At the same time, it is really interesting how this happened. Someone noticed an interesting error that occurred when paying with a Revolut card. The point was to pay in such a way that there was a refusal of payment on the merchant’s side. Then the bank refunded the payment, even though it never actually took place.
In essence, new and new money landed on the accounts that were involved in the whole matter, without anyone actually making any payment. At the same time, it is hard to believe that everything was successfully carried out for several months before someone noticed it and patched the hole.

According to critics, this says something about the functioning of Revolut as such. According to many, it is still a rather chaotic institution where strange things happen. It enjoys essentially constant attention from various regulators for all sorts of dubious payments made through it. On the contrary, ordinary clients often complain that their account is blocked for no reason, without being able to activate it for many weeks or months.
