/ world today news/ Patriotic Front MP Emil Dimitrov – Revizoro, who is the former head of the “Customs” Agency, doubted that due to the fight against smuggling, BGN 3 billion more than what was promised entered the budget.
The Prime Minister himself boasted of the sum of BGN 3 billion this morning in an interview with Nova TV, and according to him, cigarette smuggling had been reduced to less than 8 percent.
“To these BGN 3 billion, I think they add the money that came from Europe. It’s not quite BGN 3 billion, but when a person needs to brag, let him do it,” Revizoro commented in Varna, quoted by Darik.
He also commented on the information in Turkish media about Bulgarian contraband cigarettes in our southern neighbor.
“If there are cigarettes in Bulgaria that were produced in France, intended for Turkey and have Turkish labels – is France to blame, did its customs services allow cigarettes intended for another country into Bulgaria, did the French control system not exercise control on borders and markets? If Bulgarian cigarettes leave for the Arab world and from there return to Turkey through its southern border – we can blame America with the same success. If we find illegal “Marlboro” in Bulgaria, does it mean that America is to blame. For what is happening in Turkey, Bulgaria cannot be to blame. Bulgaria has officially exported things to somewhere and if someone later because of a price difference imported into Turkey – where is the Turkish control system then. The problems that are on Turkish territory are not ours and we are not interested,” added Dimitrov.
