Like every two years, they received an invitation but had the choice to do it in this truck rather than elsewhere. Valérie hadn’t had an exam in four years: “It’s far away, it’s also the lack of time because it means spending a full half-day depending on the exams and emergencies that there may be… We don’t necessarily want to wait half a day. day in hospitals or elsewhere. »

Forgotten examinations, sometimes because of distance or financial difficulties but also because of a drop in the number of radiologists and long delays for an appointment – sometimes 8 months. As a result, screening is in free fall, explains Pierre Darbelet, head of the Allier screening site in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region: “In organized screening, we were between 60 and 70% of the population concerned who participated at the beginning of the 2010s, falling to less than one woman in 2, 48%. When we know that it concerns women aged 50 to 74, around 60,000 women in Allier, there are less than 30,000 who adhere to the system. »

The experience, organized with health insurance or the regional health agency, will last one month. No less than 400 appointments have already been made in the 15 municipalities where the bus will make a stop. The selected municipalities are more than 30 minutes from a radiology center.

Here are the municipalities and dates concerned:
