Our country must pay in rubles for gas. At the same time, the reaction of the Russian side in this case is also incorrect, Vazrazhdane MP Angel Georgiev told reporters.
According to Georgiev, who is also deputy chairman of the foreign policy committee in the National Assembly, it is normal, since the Western world imposes sanctions and the Russian side to do the same. We have suffered precisely because of this, Bulgaria should not be harmed, because of someone else’s interests, the MP believes.
Our government must intervene adequately and protect the Bulgarian national interest in order to have secure and cheap gas supplies, he commented.
We expect on Wednesday at the extraordinary session of the parliament, one of the points of which is related to gas, to hear the same thing that we have heard many times so far – that it should have been done just like that, no matter how many times more expensive gas we pay, he explained Angel Georgiev, emphasizing that we are not a rich country that can afford to pay many times more expensive gas.
On the arms aid to Ukraine, which is also the subject of an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, the Vazrazhdane PG will vote “no”. Our position from the very beginning is not to interfere in any foreign war, so we are against the delivery of military aid, the MP explained. According to him, a possible repair of Ukrainian weapons is also not in the Bulgarian national interest, because it involves us in a foreign war.
Angel Georgiev is taking part in a protest in Sofia, organized by the party, in connection with a case with a Bulgarian baby in Paris, which has caused a stir in recent days.
