Information about revitalization measures at Klagenfurt’s Lendhafen was provided on Thursday Vice Mayor Philipp Liesnig (SPÖ), City Councilor Max Habenicht (ÖVP), Hafenstadt Managing Director Michael Pontasch, Inga Horny, Managing Director of Klagenfurt Marketing GmbH and Klagenfurt’s head of tourism Helmuth Micheler in a press conference. “I am very pleased that three large events can be held in Lendhafen this year,” said Habenicht. In addition to the “Port Crackling” in Advent, there will also be the “Harbour Chirping” at the end of May this year and the “Harbor Rustling” from September 26th to 29th. This is intended to further establish the Klagenfurt Lendhafen as a place of encounter and cultural exchange in the city of Klagenfurt. Klagenfurt Marketing GmbH was entrusted with the implementation of all three port events in cooperation with the “DOK04” association.

First event in May
From May 23rd to 26th, 2024, guests can look forward to a diverse program consisting of music, cuisine and lived creativity while “harbour chirping”. Regional handicrafts as well as culinary specialties from six restaurants and a jazzy music program are on offer! At the same time, “Die Lendhauer” – the association for the revitalization of the Lendhafen – is celebrating the start of this year’s season with a theater performance by VADA and a book presentation.
Further events will follow in autumn and winter
In autumn and in the run-up to Christmas, the concept will be continued with the “harbour rustle” and another “harbour crackle” on the four Advent weekends in 2024. Vice Mayor Liesnig: “The Lendhafen is one of the most beautiful places in our state capital. We would like to use this area sensibly and gently enliven it […].“ Inga Horny, Managing Director of Klagenfurt Marketing GmbHadds in conclusion: “I am pleased that the city of Klagenfurt has recognized the potential of the Lendhafen and is taking appropriate measures.”
