Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian revising the circular regarding the prohibition of breaking fast together during Ramadan and halal bihalal during Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah. The revision was made on May 4, 2021, the same day as the day of the issuance of the first letter.
In the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Number 800/2794 / SJ, Tito no longer prohibits breaking fast together. He only changed the diction of the prohibition into a limitation.
“Limiting the activity of breaking the fast together does not exceed the number of nuclear families plus 5 (five) people during Ramadan 1442 H / 2022,” reads number 1 letter a SE Minister of Home Affairs Number 800/2794 / SJ.
CNNIndonesia.com received an official copy of the letter from the Head of the Information Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Ministry of Home Affairs), Benni Irwan, Wednesday (5/5).
In the letter, Tito forbade all officials or ASNs in the local government to do so open house or halal bihalal during Eid. The prohibition remains the same as stated in the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Number 800/2784 / SJ.
He also re-listed the reasons for limiting the two activities. Tito again referred to the experience of the spike in Covid-19 cases last year.
“Observing the increase in cases of Covid-19 transmission, especially at the last Eid al-Fitr 1441 H / 2020 celebration and the 2021 Christmas and New Year post-holidays, it is necessary to anticipate the implementation of activities during the month of Ramadan 1442 H / 2021 and ahead of the celebration, time, and post. Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1442 H / Year 2021, “said the letter.
Tito added one new rule point in the circular published today. The former National Police Chief included transitional rules.
These points explain that the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Letter Number 450/2769 / SJ and the Minister of Home Affairs Circular Letter Number 800/2794 / SJ are revoked and declared invalid when this circular letter is signed.
