Review the Logitech MX Mechanical and MX Master 3S? Join the test panel – Computer – .Plans

Logitech is a well-known name when it comes to peripherals for PC and game consoles. The Swiss manufacturer has a large range, especially in the field of keyboards and mice. With the new Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard and the MX Master 3S muis put the company high. In their own words, this is the peripheral equipment for professionals and creators.

Tweakers Partners and Logitech have joined forces for an MX test panel. For this we are looking for testers who work a lot with their mouse and keyboard. Five tweakers are selected to test this versatile duo; so register quickly in the poll that you will find at the bottom of this article.

Logitech MX Mechanical

The MX Mechanical is equipped with mechanical switches that should provide more tapping comfort. The keyboard has a luxurious look, is quite sturdy and weighs 828 grams. Keys are provided for both Mac and Windows users, which is very useful when switching between the two operating systems. Three switches are available with this model: ‘tactile silent’ (brown switches), ‘clicky’ (blue switches) and ‘linear’ (red switches). The brown switches are in between the red and blue in terms of user experience and, according to Logitech, are the best choice if you are in the office and want to tap fine without colleagues being disturbed by tapping noises. The MX Mechanical, which is being tackled by the test panel, is therefore equipped with the brown switches. These are keys with perceptible feedback and a total travel of 2.7 mm. The strike is registered at 1.5mm. Thanks to the legs, the keyboard can be adjusted in height.

De MX Master 3S

The MX Master 3S is the updated version of the MX Master 3. From the outside, both mice appear identical and their size and weight – only 141 grams – are the same. The biggest change is the new optical sensor, which has doubled the dpi value to 8000. This allows the mouse to move very accurately on any surface. The new click system also stands out; the new click is about 90% quieter. In combination with the brown switches, this is ideal if you don’t want to disturb your colleagues in the office too much. In addition, the electromagnetic MagSpeed wheel, with which you can now scroll up to a thousand lines per second, is also quieter than before. According to Logitech, the MX Master 3S lasts approximately seventy days on a single charge, and can be used continuously for three hours after just one minute of charging.

Three devices, compatible with various operating systems

The MX Mechanical and MX Master 3S are both compatible with Logi Options+ software. It allows users to customize individual buttons, use predefined profiles, create their own app-specific profiles, adjust tracking speed and select backlight effects. Both products feature both Bluetooth and Logitech’s proprietary Logi Bolt technology. With the latter system, you can switch from one device to another in one go. Incidentally, both the MX Mechanical and MX Master 3S can connect to up to three different devices, and both are compatible with Windows, macOS, iPadOS, Android, Chrome OS, and Linux.
