Review: The action film Argylle is full of clown violence and roars

Before the lights go down and the press screening begins, the film company asks the congregation in the pews not to reveal too much in their reviews. As if there was actually something to reveal.

There is an author, Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), who writes suspense novels about a super spy super spy, Argylle (Henry Cavill). Yes, or there is a real world of dangers and secrets, conjured up by Elly Conway’s magical super ability to see into the darkest shadows hidden, a spy world into which she is drawn precisely because of her ability to dream true. Or else… well, the thing is, unfortunately, that it doesn’t matter at all.
