The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets looks great on paper. I had the opportunity to check how it works in practice on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ model.
At Samsung Unpacked 2023, Koreans presented new top-shelf tablets. In total, the manufacturer’s portfolio has expanded by 3 models: Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. They differ primarily in the size of the screens, with each subsequent one being larger than the previous one. I received the middle model for testing, which on paper looks like the best option due to its good comfort-to-mobility ratio.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is a real high-end tablet. Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S8+, it has not undergone major changes, but they are sufficient to talk about new generation equipment. First of all, the Koreans installed an even more powerful processor, more RAM, and a better quality screen.
The heart of the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragonn 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy system, which has been overclocked to 3.36 GHz on more powerful cores. We also have 12 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of space on the built-in disk. If necessary, the device also supports microSD memory cards with a capacity of up to 1 TB, so there should be enough space for data.
As for the screen, the Galaxy S9+ model is equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X matrix with a diagonal of 12.4 inches, a resolution of 1752 × 2800 pixels (266 ppi) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Identical panels are found in the S9 and S9 Ultra models, but they are 11 and 14.6 inches, respectively. The middle, or tested, model has dimensions of 185.4 × 285.4 × 5.7 mm and a weight of 581 (WiFi) or 586 grams (5G).
What else is worth mentioning? Among other things, about cameras. On the front we have an ultra-wide-angle lens with a resolution of 12 Mpix, and on the back there is a 13 Mpix AF and an ultra-wide-angle 8 Mpix. Nothing extraordinary, but it’s a tablet after all, so the emphasis on photo quality is definitely less than in the case of a smartphone. The device supports WiFi 6E, 5G (in the selected version), as well as Bluetooth 5.3. Galaxy Tab S9+ is powered by a battery with a typical capacity of 10,090 mAh with 45 W fast charging. The whole thing works on the basis of Android 13 with One UI 5.1 overlay.
How much does such a tablet cost? In the 5G version and 512 GB capacity, the cost is PLN 5,800. The WiFi version is PLN 4,999 for 512 GB and approximately PLN 4,000 for 256 GB. Quite a lot and there is no point in hiding it. On the other hand, we get really high-end equipment. Additionally, it is possible to purchase a Book Cover Keyboard, i.e. a keyboard that also serves as a case. The cost of such an accessory is a considerable PLN 1,199. The S Pen stylus is included with the tablet.
