Jakarta (ANTARA) – Samsung some time ago started the new year by releasing cheap mobile phones suitable for novice users, especially school children.
Galaxy A03 comes with sufficient specifications to support learning activities onlinethanks to the wide screen, large capacity battery, camera and sufficient storage capacity.
BETWEEN using the Galaxy A03 for a few weeks, here is the experience of using this phone for daily activities.

Design
The first thing that stands out the most about this phone is the color, Samsung gives a bright color choice for the Galaxy A03. ANTARA uses a dark blue color variant.
At first glance, when viewed from afar, the back of the phone looks plain blue. However, at close range, the user can see the checkered pattern of the lines crossing each other.
When you hold it, you can feel that the body of this phone is made of plastic material, which is the right choice if you see the target user. In addition to feeling light, the plastic frame is generally not slippery when held.
In order not to slip easily when gripped, especially if used by elementary school age children, the rear body is also textured so that it is not too slippery.
On the top left side, there is a special area that is made to protrude a few millimeters for the camera. Although a few millimeters higher, the back surface of the phone remains flat when placed on a table.
The use of additional protection is an option because the phone does not shake when placed on the table.

On the front, Samsung uses a notch screen model (notch) Infinity-V, there is a front camera in a “V” shaped notch. The front camera, apart from taking selfies, is also the only biometric key to unlock the phone.
Samsung only provides facial recognition feature (facial recognition) for this phone biometric lock, there is no fingerprint scanner.
To listen to audio, Samsung provides a speaker at the bottom right of the phone. While on the left, there is a hole for plugs earphone 3.5 millimeters in size.
This phone charges using USB Type-B.
Performance
Samsung equips Galaxy A03 with chip Unisoc T606, processor with eight cores clocked at 1.6GHz.
Chip combined with 3GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage capacity. Alloy chip and this memory is sufficient to perform standard to moderate functions in daily activities.

For example, 3GB of memory still supports video conferencing applications such as Zoom. Once installed on the phone, this app takes up space starting at 165MB.
When used for meetings onlineno “lag“ or the phone is slowing down because the phone is opening the Zoom app. So that the meeting online running smoothly, in addition to ensuring an internet connection, the storage space should not be too full so that the phone does not slow down.
When used to watch content online streaming, the phone can also run without problems. Watching videos on this phone is satisfying, thanks to the large 6.5-inch screen and 20:9 aspect ratio.
Samsung still leaves bezel thin around the HD+ resolution PLS screen.

If storage space is still lacking, Samsung allows users to use memory cards up to a maximum area of 1TB. In this way, users can install more applications as needed.
Battery
The large battery capacity is the main indicator that this phone is suitable for distance learning. Samsung dares to provide a 5,000mAh battery for segment phones entry-level this.
Generally, a battery of this size lasts all day to run light to moderate tasks on a single charge.
When used in an online meeting with the Zoom app for an hour, the battery was reduced from 73 percent to 68 percent.

Meanwhile when watching movies on the service streamingbattery power is used about 4 percent for 30 minutes.
The phone does not feel warm when used to join video conferences and watch movies for the duration mentioned above.
Unfortunately, despite the large battery power, this phone does not yet have a fast charging feature. The new Samsung delivers 7.75W capability for the Galaxy A03.
The main clue that this phone doesn’t have a fast charging feature can be seen from the charger plug, which still uses USB Type-B.
Due to no fast charging, users have to be patient waiting for the power to be fully charged, from 18 percent to 100 percent, for 2 hours 41 minutes.
Camera
For photography purposes, Samsung provides a resolution large enough for a mobile phone in the beginner class.
On the back, the Galaxy A03 is equipped with dual cameras, each in the form of a wide lens or wide 48MP and depth lens (depth) 2MP.

This 48MP lens can only be used for 4:3 image size, which can be adjusted when using the “Photo” mode on the rear camera. A camera of this size is certainly more than enough if used for remote school purposes.
The photos with the 48MP camera do not disappoint at all, the resulting images are clear and the colors are sharp.
The difference when the 48MP feature is turned off is felt when the photos are enlarged. With a resolution of 48MP, the photos are not broken even when enlarged.
When using photo mode, the main camera setting uses a wide lens, indicated by a two tree icon. Tap on one tree icon, user will get 2x magnification.
Galaxy A03 offers zoom (zoom in) digital up to 10x. The more the camera is zoomed in, the more fragmented the object of the image will be.
Depth camera or depth of 2MP functions when using Portrait or Portrait mode, Samsung will give a bokeh effect to the photos. This bokeh effect can be adjusted before or after taking the picture.

When using this mode, Samsung will provide a notification at the top of the camera if the distance to give a bokeh effect to the image is appropriate. Portrait mode on the Galaxy A03 is quite difficult to use, if the phone shakes just a little, the user will be asked to adjust the distance again.
For a selfie camera of 5MP, the image results are satisfactory for the size of a cellphone entry-level. The front camera works well when used for video conferencing and selfies, especially when outdoors.
Conclusion
This phone has specifications that are suitable for novice users, such as school children. The large battery power, although not yet equipped with fast charging, is sufficient for use during school activities online.
With a price of Rp. 1,599,000, users don’t have to worry about running out of battery while attending online meetings.
