This week it ended into the frenzied group stage of the 2020-2021 Champions League. We take the opportunity to review next Monday’s round of 16 draw some data that has left this first path on the way to Istanbul.
1. Plenary of Spain and Germany. Of the considered four major leagues, LaLiga Santander and the Bundesliga managed to get his four representatives in eighths: Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atlético and Sevilla; and Bayern, Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Moenchengladbach.

4. A rookie. Of the 16 classified, only one will be in the eighth hype for the first time: Borussia Moenchengladbach.
5. No one with full points. Neither team has made it to the next round by winning all six of its matches. Bayern and Manchester City, with 16, those who have achieved the most.
6. Four undefeated. The group stage has left four teams who still don’t know what it’s like to lose: Bayern, City, Chelsea y Lazio, the latter the only one who has passed as the second product of his two victories and four draws.
7. The worst. The French Rennais, the Russian Zenit and the Hungarian Ferencvaros have only added a point. Russian Lokomotiv (3) and Danish Midtjylland (2) did not win a match either.
8. Los ‘killers’. Álvaro Morata (Juventus), Neymar (PSG), Haaland (Dortmund) and Rashford (United) have been the top scorers in this first phase with six goals. Only the first three will try to continue in a race for a ‘top scorer’
9. Bayern remains fine on an offensive level, City firm behind. The current champion has not lowered his attacking power, only stopped by Atlético in the Metropolitano, and has scored 18 goals, three per game. The ‘citizens’, always with certain doubts behind, have been the best defense, with only somewhat embedded.
10. Istambul Basaksehir, the ‘strainer’. The Turkish team was the worst defense of this first phase by conceding 18 goals in a group where there were big attacks (PSG, Leipzig and United).
