Review of storms in RLP: with this destructive force thunderstorms moved across the country – the consequences – Rhineland-Palatinate

First the heavy rain came on Sunday evening, then lightning and thunder rolled over Rhineland-Palatinate on Monday night: in many places it poured, thundered and crashed so that many cellars were flooded, but fortunately not too much damage was caused. Höhr-Grenzhausen in the Westerwaldkreis, however, was hit hard, where the rifle house and an associated restaurant burned down after a lightning strike. The storms also caused damage in the Moselle town of Zell (Cochem-Zell district) – and on top of that ruined the start of the new school year: 148 students had to stay at home.
