Review of Diablo 4 Season 2: Monotony and Build Frustrations

To my regret, this is very recognizable. Although improvements have been made in Season 2 of D4, it still feels quite monotonous. It is not only the content that largely remains the same during leveling, but also the cumbersomeness of Aspects, the high Excel content of the Paragorn boards and a rather boring (beautiful-looking!) world.
What bothers me most in D4 is that with builds there is often a tendency/necessity to fill multiple skill slots with buffs, debuffs or mobility skills and then focus the build on exploiting 1 skill. While this is the case in many aRPGs, it bothers me with D4 for some reason.
No doubt D4 will be improved considerably in the coming years, but for now I have removed it from the PC after trying it again in season 2.

Do not get me wrong; I’m a big fan of the Diablo franchise and the aRPG genre as a whole, and if they do it right, Diablo 4 has the potential to become, in my opinion, a worthy entry in the series.
