Review of ’71 Degrees North – Norway’s Toughest Celebrity’: Premiere, Haircut Mishap, and Festival Experience

On Thursday last week, the stage was finally set for the premiere of “71 degrees north – Norway’s toughest celebrity”. Among the ten participants we find comedian and influencer Maria Stavang (28).

This has never happened before

She has so far surprised on the TV screen, and has already had to sharpen her skills on a very demanding mountain trip with her team. And an emotional season with a lot of tears, she can sign that it will be.

– I know they have taken every tear they can muster. And it didn’t help to put on the quick glasses when the tears came. Such quiet grinning, it’s the worst thing I know, she said to Se og Hør during the premiere.

But not very long after Stavang had returned home from recording, she embarked on what she describes as a “summer activity”.

She decided to get a new haircut – and ended up with very short bangs as a result.

– Couldn’t continue

– I was going to Roskilde and wanted a bit of fun bangs. I also thought that it would grow back in two or three weeks, but you never think that you can remove the appendix yourself, so no, go to the hairdresser.

– It’s a hockey, not a bang. Now it’s been three months, but it doesn’t look like it has grown out that much. Lately, hair gel and tile clamps have been my friend, she continued.

Despite the fact that Stavang got a slightly shorter bang than planned, the festival went beyond all expectations, thanks in large part to the “71 degrees north” experience.

– I didn’t have self-awareness and thought I was 22, so then I went to Roskilde and was there for a week. I bought tickets alone, but then some friends came and hung out. So we became a small group of about four or five, which was a lot of fun. It was right up my street, she said.

– Not completely hopeless

The comedian made sure that all the equipment was in order for the trip, and what she got during the participation was put to good use.

– “71” was in a way a warm-up for Roskilde, and I finally got to sleep in a tent again. Everyone was like: “Oh, hell, what will it be like to sleep in a tent?”, and then I replied: “No, I’ll tell you that: It will be fantastic”.
