Review: «Maskorama» – NRK – We reviewed «Maskorama» song by song

TV: Who sings best of Trollet and Elgen? NRK is ready with a new singing competition, “Maskorama”, where famous artists are dressed in costumes to hide their identity. The audience will both cheer on their favorite and try to reveal the identity of the various singers at home from the couch. The person who receives the fewest votes must reveal their identity and leave the program. Updated: Tonight it was Susanne «Gaupa» Goksør who had to leave the program.

Elgen: «Get up (I feel like Being a) Sex Machine» (James Brown)

This moose seems to have more attitude and “moves” than singing skills. It is shouted and growled more than it is sung, but there can be shows of this as well – even with the audience on “box” (the program goes without the audience in the hall). The moose has a strong voice and a lot of weight, which is appropriate when playing moose.

The scarecrow: «Jovial» (Freddy Kalas)

Hm, a singing scarecrow can have its charm, too. But that’s pretty much the only thing left after this session. Here there is more talk singing and sour tones than what is good. Hardly one who has singing as his main business.

The unicorn: «7 Rings» (Ariana Grande)

The unicorn is not completely stable on the notes, either. But there is definitely more technique and twisted voice in the picture here. Ariana Grande is not an easy artist to hone in on, which suggests that there are some who have at least been on a stage before hiding behind the mask. Although not one who has song as a livelihood?

Ravnen: «Sweet Dreams» (Eurythmics)

Now we’re talking. The raven definitely has his self-confidence. Nice sound, powerful voice and “it” phrases well. The singer struggles a bit with the high notes in the middle section, but picks up quickly. Tonight’s most solid performance so far.

Vikings: «All Around the World» (Justin Bieber)

What does the Viking do then? Initially, he sounds lever and groping, but he manages to raise a level in the chorus. But it is not a performance suitable for conquering lands or thousands of votes. Decent pronunciation, and a decent pop-calibrated sound, but that’s pretty much the only thing you are left with after this number.

Poodle: «Me too» (Meghan Trainor)

Fun song choice by Puddelen – had it only been able to sing the song properly. The verses appear awkwardly weedless to a poodle to be – it is stiff and flat where it should sway. Oddly enough, the song fits a lot better when you get to the chorus, where the poodle reveals a nice crack.

Lynx: «Spice Up Your Life» (Spice Girls)

Here it almost tends to cheat. Gaupa has so many “fellow choristers” that it is difficult to hear the main character himself. But, but – there will at least be a party atmosphere of the feature of this Spice Girls number and it is difficult to find something to arrest the figure in the middle of. But is Gaupa good at singing? Not good to say, that is.

The troll: «I Believe in a Thing Called Love» (The Darkness)

Heia Trollet. It does not take many stanzas before you realize that this is a professional. Not only is it a fun song choice, it’s also a fun interpretation. The troll has both technique, nerve and register. Tonight’s supremely best feature and I guess the Troll will not disappear into the woods again with the very first thing.
